“Health is our DNA. Sports and exercise are part of a healthy lifestyle. We believe that the FitTech industry will mesh with the healthcare industry. With our commitment, we are supporting the young, promising team around Natalia Karbasova. I personally am a strong believer in entrepreneurial partnership and that’s why FitTech’s platform and network concept convinced me”, says Andreas Arntzen, CEO of the Wort & Bild publishing group. Many of the new products coming out of the fit-tech scene such as smart blood glucose meters, fitness mirrors, or AI coaches help people lead a healthier lifestyle. The enormous potential of this market is also relevant for providers in the healthcare system.
The Wort & Bild publishing group is making this investment through Isartal Ventures, a sister company of Wort & Bild Verlag. Isartal Ventures supports startups with an e-health focus through its know-how, network, and capital. “We invest in young, interesting companies with capital and media, offer them our know-how and network, and want to learn from others in particular. With this strategy, we are opening up new, supplementary business areas for Wort & Bild Verlag and securing access to promising people and technologies” says Arntzen.
FitTech Company’s best-known product to date is the FitTech Summit, Europe’s leading conference platform on fitness technology, the future of well-being, and a healthy lifestyle. Since 2018, more than 250 world-renowned fitness, health, and tech visionaries have spoken at the event, attracting more than 3000 visitors and viewers from over 45 countries. The next edition will take place digitally from May 25 to 28, 2021 (fittechsummit.com).
“With the FitTech Summit, we have built an internationally recognized brand that has established itself as a hotspot for founders and decision-makers in the industry. Based on this event, we are now expanding our product portfolio and opening up new business areas, ”says Natalia Karbasova, CEO of FTC. “The cooperation with the Wort & Bild publishing group brings us a big step forward in the strategic positioning of the company.”
FitTech Company has established itself as a content and network platform for fitness and health-oriented industries — with a focus on technology, innovations, and start-ups. The target sector includes classic industries such as fitness studios, equipment manufacturers, insurance companies, pharmacies, and health insurance companies, but also tech giants that are investing more and more in health applications and data. FTC aims to bring together investors, established companies, and young start-ups on the scene — thereby create more transparency in the market.
Natalia Karbasova (CEO) founded the start-up together with Sergej Hermann (COO), Max Gaub (Chief Content Officer), and Andreas Schröder (Advisor to the Management Board, Business Angel). As of June 1st, Stefan Tilk will join the team as Chief Advisor New Business. Previously, he was CEO of the Fitness First chain for many years and he is now an active partner in the US brand Anytime Fitness.
